Prioritizing Patient Safety By Reducing Firearm Injury & Death: What Clinicians Can Do

As part of their efforts to mitigate gun violence, we ask that providers join us as L.A. Care Health Plan hosts its first Gun Safety Webinar Series on May 11, 2023. In this webinar, BulletPoints Project Director, Dr. Amy Barnhorst, will host a presentation calledPrioritizing Patient Safety By Reducing Firearm Injury & Death: What Clinicians Can Do.  The program will run from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Pacific Standard Time, and will be worth 1.00 CME credit.

In this webinar, participants will discuss how to,

• identify risk for firearm-related harm,
• summarize ways to engage with patients to reduce the risk of firearm-related harm,
• specify how to have culturally appropriate and respectful conversations with patients and their families to reduce firearm-related risk, and
• describe available interventions for patients at risk of firearm-related harm.

Providers, whether they are in the L.A. Care Network or not, are invited to join.
